CHALLENGE:

With a budget of only $250, the owner was desperately seeking some relief from the scorching Texas heat on her rear patio where she enjoys barbecuing for her family on her modest gas grill.

SOLUTION:

A simple structure who’s tall parabolic arched shape parallels the path of the sun overhead, providing continuous shade throughout the day from sunrise to sunset.  The structure consists of wood framed corrugated pvc panels suspended beneath steel bar reinforced pvc piping and fastened with heavy gage galvanized wiring and stainless steel eyelets.  The white light weight panels illuminate the entire space at dark with the use of a single light fixture, while minimizing light pollution and enhancing the ability to view the night sky.  A sliding vertical panel was incorporated for privacy.
